I'm not a big fan of tilt shift. Interesting effect, but I just don't like it.

It works better in the 1st pic, with the higher perspective.

Yes, this one's good. Too bad some child decided to delete my post saying I thought one was bad. I guess feelings really DO get hurt sometimes.

I made a ghetto home-made diffuser with some rain gutter parts, a plastic bucket lid, some weather stripping, and a utility knife.
Ugly, but it works and I had the stuff all laying around the house - put gutters in last year and still had a few spare parts left.
It's ugly as hell, used a lot of duct tape, and I didn't spend much time cutting things to fit just right. The weather stripping works well to keep it from scratching the flash and give it a secure fit.

Probably taking the XSi back tomorrow to get this:

My wife my try and exercise her veto power, we'll see what happens.

I'd go with the 40D if Costco still carried it, or the D90 kit at costco if I hadn't already bought a Canon flash.
The downside to this appears to be that the 15.1 mp is not going to give you any benefit over the 10 mp on the 40D unless you have very, very high quality optics.
But it is 1399.99 at Costco right now with lens.
