Eh I don't have a console actually, so that's alright. Thanks for the offer, though.

look, you should be able to move when shooting, even if it's only slowly.

Yeah it's definitely true that that is a legit gripe with a game in this day and age, but for me I liked RE4 enough that I could deal with it. FYI if you hold back and press one of the buttons, you do a quick 180 turn.

RE4, despite having big time control limits compared to today's 3rd person games,, was a huge step up from the other RE games. I suppose it's reasonable to hope for another upgrade. I remember there were supposed to be two controller styles, one that was the same as RE4, and one "upgraded" one. Are they both included in the demo and both suck?

It's 2009. It's hard to forgive a game that has controls such as this...

I made the mistake of playing this after playing MGS4, the controls are unforgivable. I suspect the story will be rubbish to. Chirst they have just re-hashed RE4. I was shocked to say the least when I saw the ammo on the floor and it was exactly the same pictures for ammo and red/blue light coming from them as in RE4. *sigh* even the enemies when up close attack in the same way as RE4 enemies. :rolleyes:

They should've just copied the controls from Dead Space.

I feel like if they went to far with the controls it would end up like the new Silent Hill game. Then again, the same old stand n' shoot control style RE has used since day 1 is really getting old.

The control system's getting old, but it must be hard for them to abandon seeing as how the sluggish controls have always been touted as by design to increase tension.

Just finished playing the demo and those are the worst controls I've ever seen in a game. They're awkward, slow, and clunky. I haven't played much of the previous RE series but designing basic movements such as reloading to require two buttons to activate and not being able to move and shoot booth seem like really bad design decisions.

Yeah you gotta keep in mind the design scheme was meant for a controler pad with no analogue sticks and was kindof a first of it's kind. I still haven't played it but I suspected the controls would be horrible. They really should give ppl an option on what control scheme they would like for a game like this.

I played a tiny bit and while gameplay wise it felt a bit off, I hope the whole atmosphere when playing the full game will make up for it.

just read that this is actually an 'updated' version of the demo compared to the jap demo;

conrtrols have been tweaked, difficulty toned down.

if this is the polished version, i dont want to know what demo odium played :(

Well remember in Japan they LOVE hard shit...

But yeah, if its updated I may have to give it a download just to see...

There was supposed to be a cover system in the game. CVG a while back said they saw it and that it needed work but was getting there... No idea where that went...
