Who was it that had the lower back surgeries here?
Who was it that had the lower back surgeries here?
I found out earlier today have a herniation at L5-S1 (had an MRI on Saturday). Docs said it didn't appear to be too severe on the MRI (as opposed to how my neck was with the completely ruptured disc) so I am being treated conservatively with steroids (methylprednisolone I think).
If those don't work the doc said I could try an injection of cortisone.
I really don't want another back/neck surgery. I seem to recall someone here having a similar situation that ended with surgery. Who was it? Anyone here have a disc issue that they've not needed surgery on? If so, did it get better or do you just load up with anti-inflammatories and deal with it?

ah i should have included cortico- in front of the steroids. I asked for oxandrolone instead but he said no.
Re: Who was it that had the lower back surgeries here?
that was probably me.
L5/S1 - had it drained like 5 years ago. never a problem after that. completely the opposite actually; better than ever.
I <3 my surgeon.

Honestly its starting to feel a lot better. The corticosteroids are working a lot better than I thought they would and I am able to move around pretty well now. I was working out (and still am) but not doing any really heavy stuff at the moment - workouts were based on plyometrics, chin ups, etc., from that p90x system my wife picked up at work (which actually worked very well for what it is - not for a person who wants to throw lots of mass on, but if you want a system that will get you into great shape without a lot of thought, it will work for sure...I've worked out for a long time in a lot of different ways and those workouts were some of the most intense I've done even without heavy weights).
Re: Who was it that had the lower back surgeries here?
yea but lets face it, you cant walk around all alpha like without lifting something heavy
hard to explain, but it's the extra spring in your step, the strut. you know you've got it. BAM.

Thick, solid and tight in all the right places.

I was never moving huge weights anyway - my heaviest bodyweight was around 192, best bench just over 300 pounds at about 185 pounds bodyweight. It was nice to outlift the bigger guys who really had no idea what the hell they were doing but thought they were dorian yates...the ones who would flex their 260 pound flabby self in the mirror, have their partners sit on the leg press machine with about 4 wheels a side or load the whole thing up and move it about 1 to 2 inches....but thats not the kind of alpha you are talking about here is it? And I always trained with people much stronger than me - trained with a competitive heavyweight for a long time and did some workouts with a world record holder in the squat. Kept me motivated. For mass building my genetics sucked, but I was always fairly strong for pound for pound. ek you need to remember what its like for the mere mortals out there like the rest of us.ek wrote:yea but lets face it, you cant walk around all alpha like without lifting something heavyhard to explain, but it's the extra spring in your step, the strut. you know you've got it. I'm the one who deleted the fake jizz covered pic of your kid that someone posted on this board. There may be pedos about, but not in this thread unless there is something about yourself you haven't mentioned.
