i would do the latter
and not even for 150k a year
ive been unemployed for about a year (apart from some random freelancing work) and let me tell you, you get bored as fuck pretty damn quick. the first few months are fine but after a while you really have no idea what to do with yer time.
especially after you did work 40hrs a week for a while
i dont mind work. fills up my day and brings variety into yer week

lol are you serious? only reason id imagine one would choose the work would be primarily for the money.
there are a billion things you can do to kill time with no job and $50k is more than sufficient to help you be good at doing nothing. Feel like working? take up a hobby like write some fancy program or get into hacking. Learn a language, volunteer at a place, or even just clean your house many times over.

Well if it's inacurate why are you saying the exact same thing?R00k wrote:You seem to be using this as a large part of the basis of your argument, but it's inaccurate.Kracus wrote:Cause he's saying they are more efficient. Well if he calls foraging and hunting for food efficient then obviously we would still be doing it.
We switched to massive automated farms and such not because it's the more efficient way to feed people, but because it's the ONLY way we can feed the huge number of people we have. We have to mass-produce food to feed everybody, turning oil energy into a human energy source.
you're just stating the obvious while I'm trying to point out the idiocy of what he's saying. Obviously farms are a more efficient means to feed people like I've been saying all along.
I also know what he's saying that it takes less energy but that's a retarded way to look at things and contemplate which of the two society's is better. Like I'd trade in an 8 hour work week to live as a hunter/gatherer. I'm positive their existance overall is much more stressful than ours. The prospect of worrying if you're going to be EATEN I suspect has surprising effects on the human mind in terms of stress vs modern day work stress.

He's nt saying the same thing as you at all. The way mass agriculture works is hard on the environment. If farming continues the way it is then we'll eventually run into big problems. We make use of exhaustible resources in our society which, when they run out, will never be coming back.
Also kracus your little 10 man farm idea doesn't work in the sense that you can't farm all year round.

Actually my laughter had nothing to do with you as all I was doing was reminding geoff to do the dishes. :lol:stocktroll wrote:ya w/e retardGONNAFISTYA wrote:stocktroll wrote:....just clean your house many times over.lolFreakaloin wrote:at least stocktroll isn't a moron...
that was just an extreme case example of what someone can do if they are "too stupid" to find something to do without a job
