I lost my ac adapter for my laptop. The specs for the output were 19 volts and 3.12 amps
I have managed to find another adapter. Its output is 19 volts and 4.22 amps.
Do u know if its ok to use with this slightly higher amps? Will the laptop just draw what it needs ? will it damage anything? if you know the answer please send it to me otherwise pls ask your friends on the discussion board and send me their answers. Thx

Nightshade/others who know stuff about adapters/laptop
my dad sent me this email:
its ok, as long as voltage is the same and amp is equal or higher to the amp required (it will only take as much as it needs even though the adapter can deliver more)

You're not pulling the rated current simply because you connect it. Yes, the laptop will draw what it needs. A higher current rating simply means that it can provide more if necessary.[xeno]Julios wrote:so technically, you could run 100 amps through it and it'd still only draw how much it needed?
Biggest problem is usually finding a charger that has the correct connector.
