So far the card is great. The 4870 had that fan issue initially where it came set at 20% and to change it you had to edit an .xml file and then load that edited profile each time with the catalyst control center. The ASUS version that I have allows you to control the fan speed easily with the asus app that comes with it. Very handy - 100% is really loud, but I haven't seen anywhere that recommends using that speed. 50% keeps the card just fine while playing crysis.

I am playing crysis with everything at high, 4x aa and doesn't drop below 40fps but I'm only playing at 1280x1024 on a 17" Sony.
I have a shitty SOYO 22" widescreen LCD sitting here in a box - my dad's company loaned some money to them and they sent him some free demo models. Might try that sometime this weekend, but need to clear off space on my desk first. And I did check the thing for stuck pixels - there were probably 40 of them, most of them clumped together. So for the moment the 17" is fine.
