Your opinion?
This subject has been bothering me for a bit. For those of you who do not wish to participate in a religious topic, please press the back button now. Before I bring forth my idea, I'd just like to say this; I'm not christian, I'm not anything, I just find this idea I've been running through my head pretty damn weird.
Ok, for those of you who have been forced or have willingly gone to bible school when you were young, I'm sure most of us were taught about the 'Adam and Eve' theory. Now, I don't know about everyone else, but whatever the church was that I was taken to specifically told me that Adam and Eve were of the caucasion persuasion.
Now, if this is the correct info., and I have my story straight. Adam and Eve were supposedly the first people on earth, everyone was supposed to spawn from just these two people right? So where did all the other races/nationalities of people come from? I find this confusing, although I don't believe in that theory, I sway more towards 'the big bang', because it makes a hell of a lot more sense. Please do not think I'm trying to be racist here either, just something that has always bothered me about that story. Please share your opinions, thoughts, or corrections to my assumptions.
For those of you who may take offense, I'm not saying that your bible is fake, I'm just saying the story may have been...altered?

ahh, yes but didnt everyone other than Noa's brood get wiped out by the flood?
so adam and eve may have been the first ppl,and in fact populate the earth, but the flood would have fragged them all, other than the afore mentioned noa's brood.
for me, religion is a load of fkn crap, third hand storys passed down and writen by some shithead who was'nt even there.
bah!
a pox on religion, been the cause of so many wars and conflicts,
bunch of fkn tossers!
the bible is to be taken like any other fairy story book.
lets face it, its not even good fiction,to many inconsistanceys

Zerofactor, do you interpret the bible literally?Uaintseenme wrote:Big bang is scientific, you mean to say that's a religion in itself? Explain.
Have you tried discussing these issues with your local religious leader? You may or may not agree with their interpretation of the bible but at least they can offer some sort of clarification.

also, i need to say something here. i read your initial post and this has nothing to do with it. this has to do with the folks that say religion is "fucking crap".
i only have a question/rant here.
why do you say its "fucking crap"? i'm not religious by any means however i have been attending church regularly lately because my current girlfriend is christian and has a passion for it. personally, i gave it a chance, i may not think its all the truth but none of it is fucking crap.
people who label it as such tend to be the ones that feel threatened by it. people that have never taken the time to even read a chapter. they assume, its religion, fuck that shit. while it is your own to choice to stay in the dark and learn nothing of what it is, it doesnt mean you have to call it bullshit, fucking crap, stupid, etc.

Are you a Wiccan, Zerofactor? I doubt there are many followers of that faith you can talk to in person. Since you're already part of an online Pagan community of sorts, these questions are better forwarded to them. You sound like a believer who has doubts in certain areas, but remains faithful overall.

no, i'm not religious, but what i am doing, for her, because it means alot ot her, i am going to church. i NEVER jump to conclusions when it comes to any topic whatsoever. i decided that i love her and if something means so much to her it cant hurt to go and give it a try...what i mean by "give it a try" is i'll go and maybe it will speak to me, i'll give it all a shot. i didnt grow up with religion and to be honest i rather enjoy going.
if she wasnt i probably wouldnt have got the chance or opportunity or motivation to go. she invited me one day and i thank her for it. and i cant imagine how that would be. its changed me for the better, attneding the church, and i really enjoy it.
