On their forums they mentioned that rb2 will be compatible with rb1 downloadable content. and supposedly rb2's peripherals won't completely suck.

it wouldn't really be worth it to download RB2 songs for RB1. for 60 bucks you're going to be getting 100+ new songs. $60 of DLC is like what, 20-30 songs? they also mention that for a small fee ($5) you'll be able to import just about every RB1 track into RB2 thus eliminating the annoyance of switching discs just to play certain songs.

$65 for 100+ new tracks plus the ability to transfer over RB1 tracks seems like a hell of a fucking deal to me.

i wouldnt want these tracks to be downloadable for RB1 (although some of them already are). i would like RB1s tracks to be downloadable for RB2, so we can all go along with the evolution and not worry about a split community

Disc Export Feature gives owners of the original Rock Band the ability to export most of the Rock Band disc tracks and upgrade them into Rock Band 2 gameplay--the first time ever in videogame history![2]

indeed, but there has been no official word of HMX till recently. everyone was saying it would be possible, but that was more like a wishful thinking

hence, without a link i'm taking it with a grain-o-salt <3

That Ion drumkit is going to kick ass.

Also the promise of 500 songs by year's end is pretty exciting.
