jumping with weapons and such

(sorry, I know i posted this in the wrong section)

well, I have been playing q3 for a few months now.. and every now and then I see people jumping off walls with weapons and shit then switching the weapons rapidly then shooting you with 3 different weapons ? :/ Is there a name for this? And isnt that pretty stupid? doesnt that take more time to do switching through weapons then jumping off walls.. WHATS THE POINT?

yeah there's all kinds of tricks like that in Q3, such a rocket-jumping, where you point your rocket launcher at the ground, jump, and fire the RJ at the top of the jump for an extra height boost; plasma-climbing, where you aim the plasma gun down while facing a wall, and you sort of slide up the wall; also lightning-gun tunnelling, where you fire your LG at a wall with the primary fire then aim for the spot you want to 'tunnel' to and hit the secondary fire button and you teleport to that spot

they all take practise of course; especially the last trick

those are hacks, you can't make a hit after doing a rocket jump like you have stated, ever.

Don't forget to type 'BS' whenever they land a good shot on you. It lets them know you appreciate their 'Brilliant Shot'!

protip: in DM17, grab the invincibility, grapple up to the ceiling and use the shock combo. you should be able to pick off quite a few noobs before it runs out
