What the fuck? 10 grid spots for a mistake that anyone could have made? I can see maybe, MAYBE penalizing Hamilton, but certainly not ten fucking grid spots. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but it sure sounds like a case of the Red Phone ringing in Bernie's office.
I guess if one was to ding Hamilton, you'd have to ding Rosberg as well, he did pretty much the same thing. But ten grid spots? No way, that's fucking weak.

yeah, crazy harsh.
but that does say they are hitting both of them with the same penalty. So at least that's fair.

yep, harsh, but they both deserved a penalty regardless. if kimi did that you'd be all over it.Nightshade wrote:http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/news/2008/06/08/hamilton-and-rosberg-punished-with-ten-place-grid-penalty/

Dude, just because I don't like Kimi doesn't mean I'm stupid and biased when it comes to matters of common sense in adjudicating infractions.

Fucking rofl @ Martin Brundle talking to Bernie about the track repairs in Canada:
Brundle's terminology, however, has caused offence as he asked Ecclestone, "There are some pikeys at turn 10 putting tarmac down, what do you think about that?"
Re: so... the circus is back in town *2008 F1 Thread*
lol i remember him saying that, did giggle a bit
who did it cause offence to though ? the pikeys ?

what a fucking homo.
he seems to have forgotten the bit the reporter brought up:
so bad pit strategy is the reason his talent ran out trying to get by nick.Despite the Spaniard having a lighter and therefore faster car, Alonso was unable to pass the German driver. Alonso eventually spun off the track and hit the barriers whilst trying to overtake Heidfeld, ending his race prematurely.

I'd say that about sums it up, happy as I am that Massa won, he said himself that he doubted that he'd have been able to catch Kimi. I think that the lack of any action over Kimi's broken exhaust in unqualified bullshit, though. That thing could have seriously injured or killed a track marshal or spectator or caused damage to another car. If it was a Mclaren the stewards would have jumped all over it.
Not sure about Lewis' drive-through for straight-lining the chicane and passing Vettel. It looked to me like Vettel had the line and Lewis tried to force the issue.
I'll bet that Nelsinho was rather giddy over Fred running wide and creating the opportunity to get by him, since Piquet's seat is on the line. If he doesn't pick up the pace and Romain Grosjean keeps doing well in GP2, Piquet's history.
Fooltard's already confirmed as retiring at the end of this season, and I'm sure that Fisi will be done whether he likes it or not, but I wonder if Barrichello will retire? Honda's having another shit year and Reubens is getting a bit long in the tooth.
All in all a good race, looking forward to Silverstone, especially since Kimi's most likely going to change his engine and get a 10 grid spot penalty.
Oh, and WTF Nico? Get your shit together!

yeah, they should have handled that muffler ASAP. not sure why the pit crew didn't even touch it or LOOK at it during that pit stop.
Re: so... the circus is back in town *2008 F1 Thread*
Kimi's McLaren luck is coming back

not sure what you mean by McLaren luck.Captain Mazda wrote:Kimi's McLaren luck is coming back
Kimi has always been known for breaking cars.
It goes all the way back to his rookie year @ sauber.

wow, hamilton just obliterated the field. i was hoping webber would have gotten a good result, but was still nice to see him qualify well. GG Heidfeld (who desperately needed that 2nd place finish) and to the old man Barichello for a podium.
Re: so... the circus is back in town *2008 F1 Thread*
lewham tore everyone a new rain gutter for sure. P2 +1min ... good show.
Also a
for Rubinho and his extreme wets at the right time. Good to see the Honda get something useful out of their terrible season. Its just unfortunate that this will certainly be their only good result this year and the car has been rubbish ever since they decided to power it on rainbows and granola... and I really wanted the eco-warrior team to do better.
a big
goes to Mark Webber... drives like mad in quali3 and puts in an unexpected front row appearance and then shits it away in the first 5 seconds of the race.
Masa gets one
for every time he decided to demonstrate his ballet skills in what was supposed to be a motor race.
Granted the man with negative personality also did his fare share of pirouettes but at least managed to salvage some points. Makes you wonder if Ferrari lost their mind and didn't prepare for rain that was almost a certainty.
And so now that we have a three way tie for first and Kubica only 2 back, the season can apparently start over in Germany.
good times ahead
