it was fast forwarded.. if you pay attention to the people in the back as well as the swaying motion of the guy holding the cam.. its a little fast..

overall good though.

nah i think ur full of shit. What people at the back? What time in the wmv?

look at 41 seconds, you see a reflection walking past at normal speed.

the swaying is perfectly normal.

and finally, the camerman's voice is at a normal speed, not high pitch.

no doubt. playing the actual pieces on a real piano would be infinitely more difficult. not only do you have to worry about hitting the right notes at the right time, but you also have to be concerned about phrasing, musicality, dynamics, pedaling, page-turning, etc, ad infinitum.

i know that i can't play the piano and i posted this link as a response to a guy doing dance revolution.

I play the piano and in fact I've played many of the pieces in that video: Rondo alla Turca (Mozart), Fur Elise (Beethoven), and Two Arabesque (Debussy).

I can tell you that learning to play those pieces for the piano is much easier than doing that thing on the video game. Why? Because that video game would get tedious and extremely boring (not to mention pointless) after about two minutes, whereas playing those pieces on the piano is extremely satisfying and, although difficult, the fun and joy of learning them makes it much easier to master.

EDIT: Maybe I shouldn't say learning a piece is fun... but it's neat to see yourself progress and improve.

oh i agree with you. if you enjoy learning something, it's much easier to do (in a sense). but if you think about the hundreds of thousands of hours you have to invest in learning proper fingerings, pedal techniques, and chords, playing that video game isn't even close. you could probably master that game in less than a month (if you were actually interested in doing so), but it would take years to be able to perform some of those pieces well.

my brother-in-law is a professor of piano performance at a music conservatory and claims that these pieces are still very challenging even today. he also claims that, though technically easier than some of the more contemporary composers, Mozart music is the most difficult to play well. Mozart is meant to be played light and (for lack of a better term) "bubbly" for the most part.
