I believe his last name was Lee, maybe his first name was John. Perhaps there was more than one person involved in the murder of said Smith. He told me the names of the aunties that were married to B.Y. but I also forgot them. My father's side of the family were very early converts, they were at Nauvoo, they came west with B.Y. There is an eyewitness account by one of the women about Joseph Smith, saying she knew him and thought he was a nice guy. It's all in some records my father sent me, since the Mormons are big on genealogy. Mormon history is very interesting, there was a program about them on PBS a couple of years back. My father said that they had to outlaw polygamy to become a state, and it is only practiced in remote areas since it's illegal. I already belong to another religion which is quite different, so I don't think i would ever join the Mormons, but I find it interesting.
