Yup, that was it Pauly.
I must say, I love the weird shambling walk the Joker does.
A lot of character portrayed, especially for a guy in a mask.

cloverfield - very very awesome. What odium said.
Also saw the brief teaser for the next star trek - j.j. abrams (lost, cloverfield) is directing it!

Re: The last movie you saw
i saw There Will Be Blood last week, and I thought the performances were incredible without exception, but the plot was stupid and I didn't think P.T.A.'s direction (or the cinematography for that matter) was anything special. 10/10 on performances, 4/10 on everything else, maybe 6.5 to 7ish overall. Could have been oh so much better with that kind of acting intensity going into it.

Re: The last movie you saw
i had no idea there was an old one, so whatever came up in search i automatically added it to my queue. oops.
Re: The last movie you saw
Having just seen the new one recently I'd like to go back and watch the old one now.
I liked the new one ok, but I was expecting it to be better considering who was starring in it.
It gave me the impression that Crowe's character was not as much of a bad ass as much as his captors were really incompetent!

Death Sentence 4/10
It was a pretty dumb movie all in all. The bad guys were cliche and the protagonist (Kevin Bacon) was a dumbass.

National Treasure 2:
What in the flying fuck was this? As somebody who liked the first one (Not many do I hear), I was so shocked by this one... They expect us in the space of a few days that they can break into all these high profile places AND kidnap the president...? Yeah ok...
The film was at its best when that blonde woman had her tits out on show. After, and before that, it sucked.

Resident Evil: Extinction - 4/10
Yet another half baked sequel that although not lacking potential, suffers badly from a dim-witted script and shoddy direction. Most everything in the movie, from said script and direction to the special effects and acting felt distinctly half-assed, like the people involved just went through the regular motions and yawned their way through the production. Paul W.S. Anderson should stick to only directing movies (which is something that he is actually somewhat good at), and leave the script writing and producing to more talented (and passionate) people.

The Smashing Machine - 7/10 Hard to rate this one as it's a documentary. It's got fairly low production values, but it's a great look into early MMA (fucking BRUTAL) and what it did to one man. The film follows Mark Kerr from his MMA debut in a bare-knuckle, no holds barred match in Brazil to one of his last fights in PRIDE in 2000. Along the way we get to see how his addiction to IV painkillers nearly killed and his how his involvement with a psycho bitch pretty much derailed his career.
Re: The last movie you saw
Cloverfield 8/10
Goddamn what a ride. See this in a theatre for the full experience. Or at least see it on a really big TV with proper sound. I'd give it a 9 but i think this one's not for everyone - you gotta be able to suspend your disbelief for a bit.
Sweeny Todd - 8/10
Tim Burton & Johnny Depp do it again. Definately worth seeing. Much weirdness.

Re: The last movie you saw
Tears Of The Sun = 8/10 - A decent flick where Bruce Willis actually plays a character that is not a New York City cop. In all honesty though...if I was there...I'd have shot the target they were extracting. She constantly slowed them down and compromised their safety. Orders or no orders, I'd have put two in her forehead and went home.
Re: The last movie you saw
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. 7/10. Casey Affleck's performance is outstanding. Beautiful shots all over the place by Deakins. This was a 2 hour story extended to 160 minutes and suffers a bit because of it...editing seems to be the new lost art in Hollywood.

Stardust 8.5/10
i don't care if it was made for kids. i miss movies like the dark crystal and labyrinth; this is a nice turn in that direction. plus robert de niro as a gay sky pirate was pretty funny.

Very interesting documentary on the Iraq war. You Americans are SO fucked.
Like I hadn't realized just how fucked up that whole situation was - you're all fucked.

Yea, I saw the 2007 version a few nights ago - I'd give it 8/10 as well.+JuggerNaut+ wrote:3:10 to Yuma (2007)

But I didn't know the ending was different from the original. The ending in the new one is great.
