Super Bowl predictions
Re: Super Bowl predictions
Don't understand the rules of american football and it's not remotely as interesting as rugby, which is also dull.

Chup, I should really have said I just never learnt the rules. Don't worry, I'm not really interested enough in it right now, maybe some time I'll read up on it. I've just got it on in the background for the sake of it. I'd be interested to know how some of these players would do in rugby, especially without the crash helmets.Chupacabra wrote:what part do you not understand? we can clarify if you like.DRuM wrote:Don't understand the rules of american football and it's not remotely as interesting as rugby, which is also dull.

i reckon they'd do pretty well. some of those players are insanely athletic; some of the bigger guys are athletic too but in different ways or whatever. anyway yeah, a number of them are downright beastly (e.g. running backs (the player that usually gets the ball handed off to them)).

Re: Super Bowl predictions
LOL the slo-mo of brady getting the ball stripped.
Re: Super Bowl predictions
Well looky, for the first time all season Brady's getting pressured and doesn't have his solid O line and he's not mr. god of football. He's good, don't get me wrong, I just think it's his team that's made him good and there are a lot of qbs who'd be good if they were never touched and had the pat's running and receiving.
Good game so far. Hope the giant's d-line can keep putting pressure on brady.
I didn't like football up until about 2 or 3 years ago when I was playing it on madden and I realized it's like chess, but your pieces can fuck up.
football is allright.

Re: Super Bowl predictions
The team makes the whole thing possible, but Brady's a fucking amazing quarterback on his own merits. Don't take a single game and try to make minimize everything else he's done. The Giants have a hellacious defensive line and a couple of the best defensive players in the game, Strahan and Umeniyora.
Ugly fucking game so far, this is why I was worried about the Giants and had hoped for the Packers instead. Pretty good game, but not the caliber I'd hoped for. Let's hope the second half brings better...
btw, did anyone catch the rush of squealing hoggish fans rushing the stage when Petty came on? rofl @ the tidal wave of lard

Re: Super Bowl predictions
this halftime show stuff is retarded. its more like halftime mini concert and oh well if that type of music doesn't appeal to you.
and i agree with you, nightshade, about giant's defensive frontline. pretty damn ferocious.

the best SB halftime show IMO was the 93 (i think?) show with michael jackson during the cowboys-bills game at the rosebowl.
Re: Super Bowl predictions
Petty sounds the same as he did in the 80s.

Petty's still got it, but wtf was with the guitarist? Braids? He and the bassist had very obvious dye-jobs.
Fuck's sake this game is ugly. I knew it was going to be a low-scoring game, but this is ridonkulous.

woo giants!
Re: Super Bowl predictions
I knew the Giants would have a good chance...anytime you get a team of professional athletes playing with that much momentum (10 straight road wins) on their side and put them in a classic 'nothing to lose everything to gain' scenario, they can raise up past expectations.
I hope they hold on.

WOOOOOHOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!! TOUCHDOWN!!!!!
Re: Super Bowl predictions
Knew that touchdown was inevitable. NY defense was completely pooped out. Wish Coughlin would have gone for it on 4th and 1 earlier.
