Q3 map 'spk3dm2' final version

Post by speaker »

Note added on March 3, 2008: The map is now available at Lvl under the name 'q3_elkdm2' (at present in the map queue). The location specified previously is now invalid (but the MAP file is still there).

Hi,

The final version of 'spk3dm2' is ready. The curves look nice now, and I also adjusted the lighting (was too bright and a little washed out in the beta).

Great map, speaker!
I found 3 things pretty neat.
  1. distinguishable colorful teleporter
  2. comfortable layout and its scaling
  3. ambient sounds
and q1-feel?

Would you please provide me a link to spk3dm1?

He's still working on it. Do a search, he had an early beta posted.

Edit: Actually, just look down the thread listing, it's still less than halfway down.

Ouch!
He released dm2 before dm1.
What a trick!

There is no rule that dm1 has to be released prior to dm2 though.

@a13n:

I'm glad you like my map. The credit for the layout goes to Jocke who created the original Quake map on which I based mine. The final version of 'spk3dm1' is going to be released in a few days (possibly tomorrow). I wanted to finish 'spk3dm2' first because I needed it on my Q3 server for the weekend shooting party :D

I plan to do more Q1 to Q3 conversions (excellent maps like ultrav, strafin3, efdm8, etc.). Stay tuned!
