@urgrund777: thanks, I know what you mean. Well, that's what comes out when you just spend 10seconds on your normalmaps
Not much of an update, just a new sky, a new ground and a few lighttweakings.

Forgive the lack of soft shadows (and alpha tested shadows too), these shots were taken in Quake 4. But anyway a few WIP shots...

That is very cool o'dium. I like that a lot.
I would love to know your technique for making that ivy.

Its quite simple really. I made a long, large rectangle, going down at a slight angle, then I mapped multiple smaller ones on that to make it look volumetric.

That is a great idea. It is a very effective illusion. Thanks for sharing

I can't help but think as I look at these : "How nice Q4 could have looked if it had shipped with great textures.. "

Nice. Reminds me a bit of one of evil_lair's texture sets.

When I saw that, music from DOOM 1 started running in my head. Not from the quality, but the atmosphere.

Still messing around with the Q4 editor and my little texture/model set. In case anybody wonders, those tentacles are supposed to be old roots. First wanted to make them out of meat and blood but thought that would be too much of Doom3/Quake4 style.

Wow.
Really impressing.
Intense atmosphere just from the screenshot.
I love those roots. They give that certain feeling that something weird is going to happen.
