Q4 Editor - button assignment

Post by Plan B »

Hey, long time no post :)

I upgraded recently, then decided to replay Q4 (nice) and now feel like doing a bit of the ol' mapping.

However, trivial as it may sound, my pleasure in mapping is hampered by the editor's mouse button assignment.
Especially copy-pasting brush face properties, which, AFAIK, has always been assigned to the button 3/scroll button, is a pain with this mouse.

The assignment seems to be the same with a 2-button and 3-button setup, and I don't see any options in the editor config, either.

Is there a way to reassign copy-pasting brush face properties to another button?

Use gtkradiant for brushes and texturing, q4radiant for lighting. That's what I did at least. Worked good

Hmmm, think that also uses the middle MB for copy/pasting textures.

in 1.5 it doesnt copy properties, only highlights the texture you 'aimed' at in the texture window, so i guess you're on your own. :P

I'm confused...what is it about the mouse you're using that doesn't work, or is a pain?

Edit: If it's just the fact that it's a two-button mouse...heck, go buy a cheap-ass 3-button mouse for next to nothing; problem solved. :)

Hey! Not everyone's making billions of money doing stuff they love mkay? A new mouse costs like 10$. Way too much for a poor, hungry student like myself. (btw this apartment is so god damn cold, can't map. maybe I should remove the cpu-cooler)

Hmmn. I can't tell if you're serious or not.

Generally if one has money for a computer, then one has money for a mouse.

Hehehe, yeah it's a 5 button mouse.

My problem isn't with the mouse itself, but the way Radiant assigns *copy/pasting brush face properties* to mouse button 3 (the finnicky scroll button) and i cannot change this.
