edit: I stumbled on it and thought it was relevant. I liked it a lot, myself. He seems to have gotten better at playing that thing. The first time I saw him play it I didn't really like what he played, but this time it was much better.

Yngwie is pretty good but he's a fucking wanker. there are way better metal guitarists out there, namely Kerry King and Jeff Hannemen (Slayer), Chuck Schulinder (Death) and more recently Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom) who is unbelievably good.

I don't think I've ever heard Alexi play anything terribly inventive, most of the solo ideas I've heard him play are some simple motif played at 300mph, then shifted up 2 semi-tones. Granted, I haven't heard his entire catalogue but I've heard at least 10 or so songs over 3-4 albums. Should be enough to get a decent sampling of his styles.

Never heard of that Chuck guy, though.

yes... i cant really see anything wrong with that statement?! slayer play fast aggressive lead to fit the fast aggressive kinda music they make and they can actually write songs. yngwie cannot write a song to save his life and he makes 'albums' for the sole purpose of showcasing his [admittedly considerable] talents on guitar. that makes him a wanker! have u ever actually listened to any of his music?! the cheesiest, most obnoxious garbage ive ever heard!
