Try out this new layout of mine.

Post by Hipshot »

All bsps uses about 1MB. Some smaller textures and probably the sky (use r_fastsky) will be missing, doesn't matter. Just wanna know if this is a good base for a level, I feel it is, but maybe I need to contract it even more rework the water (since it's boring down there?) and also add even more high variation? One can RLjump out of the level, it's not supposed to be like that =)

http://www.zfight.com/misc/files/q3/a1.bsp - the original level, it's the biggest, a bit different layout too.
http://www.zfight.com/misc/files/q3/a2.bsp - later revision, a bit smaller, maybe also more thought through.
http://www.zfight.com/misc/files/q3/a3.bsp - made the room by the RG/GL/RL more contract on the width, might be better, don't know.

The first one had potential, I don't like where you went with it.

The RA is better there than the GL.

The Quad could be replaced with something so it could be a map people would play in 1v1 (I play 1v1 with powerups but most won't). A RG could replace it, that's powerful, so it's a suitable replacement for Quad; making it hard to get by putting it in the water would add strategy and/or balance to the map. (I don't like the RG myself, or the LG for that matter, but if you are going to replace the Quad with something it would have to be something strong.) I mean if you are going to have the RG in the map anyway, you could move it into the water.

Basically you need some reason to go in the water.

I suppose you could keep the Quad. I like 1v1s with Quad, it's fun :)

You should put the maps in a pk3. I had to do that myself.
