It did not ask you to install any 2005 C++ runtime ?

I spent quite some time fixing the problems that created, but all is fine now. Althou it could have been a number of other things that all amounted to the problem. Ill try it again.

Reading the official forums.. sounds like the Steam version is corrupt. Brutal. edit: for Vista

got it through steam, asked me to install the C++ runtime, installed in,updated drivers to 163.44, games running fine, as is my machine.
xp pro, sp2.

great! I play through the intro, and as soon as it tries to load the first actual game map the game feezes and kicks me out.

thats basically what happends to me as well.. though, dosent kick me out..
it just sits there for ~7 mins.. basically untill i hit reset.

and p.s. No, i'm not running vista.. :)
