The last movie you saw
Bourne Ultimatum - 7/10
Great chase scenes as always (although one part w/ the motorcycle was a bit of stretch even for a Bourne movie), and 2 good fight scenes. The fact that it came on the back of 2 great flicks carried it, because by itself it definitely wouldn't have been a great movie, unless you're only scoring on action/suspense.
It was a touch weak in the plot department. Three reasons I gave it a 7 instead of lower: First, perfect closure. Second; the first two stories were a hard act to follow anyway, and since it had already been made clear that there was only one thing left that he could do, they did an admirable job making it as enjoyable as the others. Third, it was a Bourne movie and I think Damon is awesome in that role (I know quite a few people disagree, I think he gets a bad rap).
I own the first two, but I'm not sure if I'll buy this one.
I'd really like to see Tony Gilroy write another spy flick. I think the Bourne movies have a kind of up-close-and-personal detail that others lack.

Die Hard 4. 8/10 - Awesome flick, plenty of action as usual. But was still dissapointed. Dunno why, maybe no Sammy L? Im positive Willis only said fuck a few times
Simpsons. 8.5/10 - Better than I thought, didn't go on too long but a bit too much OTT (which could be a good thing). Shame it didn't feature a few more key characters. Brings a bit more faith for season 19.

Yea I noticed the Motorola too.
I ran across this last night
http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/ne ... &cset=true
Kind of explains why the camera work looked the way it did.

Yeah, I thought they should've gone with more plot elements from the novel (i.e. showdown with Carlos the Jackal) or something since it is clear that Gilroy was stretched thin for ideas. I also think the casting of David Strathairn was ill advised...he's done some great work but here he couldn't generate even an ounce of menace (unlike Brian Cox in Supremacy).R00k wrote:Bourne Ultimatum - 7/10

The Illusionist: 5/10
Mediocre all round. Underwhelming performances from Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti (who speaks like he's intoning a funeral dirge the entire movie -- huuuge piss-off!), a clumsy beginning in medias res leading to a clumsy framing of the rest of the movie as a flashback which reaches back to the present just in time for an even clumsier third-act plot twist, necessary only because everything else is so terribly tedious, and which by trying to cross generic boundaries manages only to cross the boundary of audience giving-a-shit.
Kramer vs Kramer: 9/10
I wish they still made movies like this. Streep and Hoffman are amazing, but the little boy's performance is completely beyond belief.

Four Feathers - 3/10
Fucking hell, it turns from a decent movie into a pathetic sob story.

Solid setting and mood but the story was a bit predictable. Paul Giamatti was great though.
The Anchorman - 6/10
A few lol irl moments, but it could have been funnier. Big plus for the 70's setting and costumes.

The Darwin Awards - 7/10
The subject matter alone makes it worth watching for me. There were quite a few semi-stars playing the idiots who killed themselves too, which was a bonus. David Arquette, Juliette Lewis, Chris Penn, a couple others. Plus a surprise appearance by Metallica at the end.
And I've always thought Winona Ryder was one of the sexist chicks on the planet anyway, so bonus there, she's one of the main characters. She plays a bit of a cursing, smoking bitch, and it seems to come fairly natural.
Anyway, don't expect to be blown away, the plot itself isn't awesome, but some of the subject matter is. And the camera guy adds a nice touch.

Top Gun 11/10
Who doesn't love the volleyball scene? Tom Cruise should've atleast been nominated for an oscar as 'Maverick.' And all those shower/locker room scenes. MMmmmm... I love it when Iceman "bites" at Maverick.
Syriana 8.7/10
Great movie, loved George Clooney's character.
Makes me want to read the book.

Sunshine 7/10
Danny Boyles sci fi flick about A journey to the sun to deliver explosives that will kick start the sun to shine again.
Was actually pretty good space movie, as far as space movies not about aliens go...
no hollywood bullshit one liners and the science was'nt too retarded. worth seeing for sure on the big screen with some of the Sun/space parts. The ending was ....well, kinda hard to figure out wtf was going on for a while....but I didnt mind it.
I was gonna give it an 8, but Red didnt think it was all that great.

A lot of people would say it's a bad idea, on your first day out of prison, to go right back to stalking the tranny hooker that knocked out five of your teeth. But that's how I roll..

Not only didn't the movie make any sense at all from begin to especially the end, but it was hard to follow, lots of totally random pointless shots, obsultely horrible dialogue:
"can you do it?"
"will be hard..but yes we can do it"
*cheer dance wohooo*
WTF WAS THE POINT OF THE CHEERING
Also what bothered the most is that it was a horrible rip off of Event Horizon.
fuckyou/10

Norbit 5/10 It made me laugh in a couple spots, other than that it was too drawn out and boring.
The messengers 7/10 ending could have been better/creepier.
The number 23 8/10 Kinda corny in a couple places but pretty good overall. And I don't like Jim Carrey.
Watching 300 tomorrow. I know I'll like it.
