The Pope has a high fever

Post by The HavoX »

Just heard this from CNN a few minutes ago:
VATICAN CITY - Pope John Paul II's blood pressure fell and he developed a high fever, an Italian news agency said Thursday, a worrying report that came a day after the ailing 84-year-old pontiff was given a feeding tube.

However, a Vatican official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Associated Press that he was unaware the pontiff's condition had worsened, and the pope's situation was "regular" a few hours ago.

The Apcom news agency, citing unidentified sources, said doctors had to intervene because of a "worrying lowering of (blood) pressure." The news agency also said the pope reportedly had a high fever.
Stay tuned, folks.

It's alright, shiavo already died and I bet she'd croak before the pope so it's ok for him to die now.

The problem w/ JPII dieing is that someone more narrow minded and out of tune with modern thinking and science could come in to power.

Anyone in the position of being the pope is narrow minded imho.

I really hope the pope doesn't die, he's the son of god! I bet he could turn water to wine, and, oh I dunno, part the seas or something.

Yes, but it's going to happen sooner or later. Whether he dies today or in a year, it won't make a difference. I think there's a good chance of getting a fairly liberal person in the vatican, but there's just as good of a chance of it being someone ultra-conservative.

Great...when he dies another pope will be elected and there will be no difference from how things are now...

He's the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, god's representative on earth.

He's supposed to be almost Jesus, IIRC.
And he's received "last rites" he's probably really close to death now.

spelling :o!

Sounds like they're croaking him like they did to the last pope.

They kinda have to... With today's medical technology people are just living way too long for their own good.

It's "last rites" :p

i normally wouldn't give two shits about the pope dying, but i agree that it'd be bad for someone a lot more conservative to replace him. he was fairly liberal - as popes go anyway.

I'll bet you 358 that he'll die before midnight Friday night, he won't make it to Saterday, let alone Sunday. :icon34:
