  1. Uninstall Radiant (should you still have an old version installed)
  2. Get GtkRadiant editor
  3. Get Q3Map2 compiler
  4. Get Q3Map2Toolz front-end
  5. Scan the rest of this thread for information and content to learn from and use.
  6. Then Start Mapping for Quake III Arena!

hi people im new in here so sorry in advance if i broke a rule post this reply, well i want to learn how to create my own maps in QIII Arena, so the recommended sofware is

1.- GtkRadiant editor
2.- Q3Map2 compiler
3.- Q3Map2Toolz front-end

with the first one (GtkRadiant editor) i can install the software, but no run

with the second one (Q3Map2 compiler) well the page recomended download "q3map_2.5.12_win32_x86***" but this is a zip file and when i try to unzip just didnt work, the other file "Development Build Win32 x86***" is a *.exe file and didnt work too.

with the third one (Q3Map2Toolz front-end), this is a link who send me to another webpage, but there the file "Q3Map2Toolz 0.06.04" have no downloadable link.
people im a really fan of QIII arena, and a really want to learn how to make my own maps, if someone can tell me some hint where i can download this software this will be very preciated.

It's a little out of date...

What problems are you having with the editor, exactly? And what version? 1.5.0 has more games support but is a little less polished than the very stable 1.4.0.

GtkRadiant 1.1.1 to 1.4.0
GtkRadiant 1.5.0 (stable)

Q3Map2 comes with GtkRadiant. But in case you need it separately...

Q3Map2 2.5.16

Website for Q3Map2Toolz works for me. It leads you here:

Q3Map2Toolz (requires Fileplanet login)
