My portfolio (3 years of work)

Post by brisk »

Hello all.

Just to let you know that i've uploaded my portfolio onto the internets for all to see. This is still not finished as I need to sort out a front-end/navigation system but i'll do that later. Here is the showreal of my favourite work from the past 3 years:

Let me know what you think!

That's a really nice portfolio you got there. I see a consistent style you seem to have become comfortable with. You pull it off rather well compared to other shite I've seen implementing similar styles that are cropping up all over the net.

I'm digging the Twin Peaks poster with the butterfly in particular.

I like the site design. The titles would be better positioned under the pictures, though. I didn't notice them until I went to close the browser.

What's this?

Nah, that wasn't a commercial job.

Cheers all.

Excellent work, brisk :icon14:

Companies will go head over heels to get someone as talented as you to work on their ads.

About 5% or something hehe :)

The rest are briefs I wrote for uni during my time on the degree. I finish in 2 weeks so I need to look for a job then.

Don't know what the market's like over there, but you should do well with a portfolio like that.

Ah, I normally do between 3-20 solutions for any given brief... mainly because the latter ideas just tend to look better. The site represents about 15% of the total work i've done over the past few years, but its hard to be selective without outside input I suppose... plus theres only so much you can show before people get bored.

some nice stuff there, but you discredit yourself with the obvious (i wont use the word 'blatant') DesignersRepublic clones.

luckily, not many people know about their influence so maybe it's more my fault than yours :icon32:

The only real "clone" is that 4 Designers piece from 2004, which I did when I was big into them. Later stuff is very different in my opinion.

My mate did a placement with TDR by the way.

Have you had anyone help you edit your portfolio, brisk? I've been told that I'm my own worst editor, so I assume everyone else is too :p

I'm not saying I saw something wrong with your portfolio or anything, tis good to be sure, but I thought I'd throw that out there in case you're having second thoughts about anything.
