Problem with Curve Patches in Gtk Radiant

Post by Treasure »

I’ve a problem with the simple patch mesh in Gtk Radiant. I’ve created an arche for a doorway for a JK2 map. In the mapper it’s all perfectly aligned. However when I want to look at my map in JK2 the edges of the arche change when I approache so they look more “softly”. The problem now ist that the patch below the arche doesn’t change and then it seems that the arche flies somehow above ist undersite. My knowlegde of the mapper is very basic and I don’t know how to fix it. Please help me out!

I was told to compile with q3map2 patchmeta in BSP but I can't find it. What shall I do?

screenshot?

the patch going from 'rough' to 'smooth' as you approach is a game engine feature designed to draw only as many polys as is strictly necessary. it's not a problem that needs fixing with -patchmeta

also, the reason you can't find patchmeta is probably because you're not compiling with the q3map2toolz frontend and are using radiant's built-in compile menu, which is rubbish

download q3map2 from the link on one of the stickies at the top of this forum, and use that for compiling

edit: doh, i meant q3map2toolz. q3map2 is the compiler. you can find both on the stickies (i think)
