Just finished reading the book and it was actually dammn good. The movie is just a heaping pile of shit but damn if that book wasn't good.

I was reading that they had to take almost all of the politics out of the movie in order for them to be able to film it in Europe.
Must still be a bit of a sore spot.

Speaking of the movie, I hear Nicholas Cage is a complete window licker irl, but at least he's banging some 18 year old korean hooker so he's not all bad.
