My New Toy

Post by Kills On Site »

Well today I picked up my PSP and a copy of Twisted Metal: Head On and I am very very pleased. I have never seen a game look and play so fluid on a portable. The load times are there, but not crippling. The PSP and the game look so sexy, I can't say that enough. The audio is also quite nice in game and Spider-Man 2, came free with the PSP. I had no trouble connecting the PSP to my wireless network at home. Anyone else get a PSP today?

Well I haven't had it but for two hours, but tomorrow, after a full night's charge I am going to see what drains it and how long it takes to drain it.

Oh and as for the 32MB memory stick being small, well so far my save in Twisted Metal: Head On is only taking 500K, so I think 32 is good for game saves

Picked mine up last night too. ALso have Twisted metal. But one thing that bugs me about the game. Why in THE hell did after so many twisted metal games, did they decide to change the button setup. WTF, now after years of playing twisted metal, I have to learn a new setup. Why didnt they just include the original button setup in the controls? But other than that, oh yes, this thing is sexy. Im loving every minute of it. Also great to play while on the john ;).

Im also going to pick up hot shots golf in June. Love that game. But I really want tekken. Does anyone know if this game will be made for the psp?

It doesn't play PS2 games does it? Just games made for the PSP right? (yeah I realize there are crossover titles)

Right, only psp games. The disks are tiny little suckers. Quite cool looking.

Yeah, why don't you just jump on it for Jug here so he can see how durable they are.

But the number 1 question before I'll buy any games console: can it be chipped?

What do you mean by chipped? Like modded like an Xbox? Where would you put the HD?

Well as for the disk popping, I am not too inclinded to try it, but it is a sturdy fucker, so it would take one helluva bend to do it

Also the manual says that the battery can charge from dead to full in 2 hours 20 minutes, and it can be easily switched out.

As for the Twisted Metal controls, this is my first Twisted Metal game, so I have no previous memory

Kracus, yes you can pplay wirelessly using Ad-Hoc mode, the ability to share a game, if the game supports it, can also be done, so you would only need one copy of the game to play people, no games currently support this.

Checking for updates is damned easy on my PSP since I have a wireless network, it supports WEP and saves the WEP key.

Connecting it to PC is simple as hell, same cable I used to upload the picture in my first post works on my PSP and once I get a bigger memory stick and hack my season DVDs I am going to put them on my PSP.

I have basically two beefs so far

A. The PSP is a sexy black, but the headphones and the connecting strap are white, and the strap looks gay as hell

B. The headphone controls will not plug into my iPod

Other then that nothing but happiness.

I hear Bethesda is making a game for the PSP, I hope it fucking owns, like Morrowind. I cannot wait for GT4 and a game that supports game sharing, I want to see how well that works.
