/seta bind KEY name Casedogg
seta will write it to your config for future use. Other wise youd have to type it every time your loaded it.

rename it to autoexec.cfg and it should never get over written. (If you change the settings in q3config it will still use whats in autoexec)

I've only ever typed 'bind x name amazingperson' and it's saved. I don't have to type it again.

I stand corrected about the seta thing, I guess I do it out of habit.
Case are you manually writing stuff to your config, if so just close it and it will prompt you to save.

go to C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\baseq3
or wherever your q3 folder is
find q3config.cfg and open it with a text document
thats your config
just save that file and put it back in that q3 folder whenever you re install
maybe ?

make a backup of it obviously..
then just copy n paste
