converting .bsp into .map

Post by squirell man »

is there a way to convert a .bsp into a .map? for many reasons im wanting to know this - like how other levels work and stuff, and to answer questions like "ooh i like that texture in game what is it called in the q3radiant?" and i created this map and i accidently converted it into a .bsp and copied the .bsp to a disk and then reformated my hard drive and i wasnt finished making the level. is it a feature in q3 radiant or q3build but im just retarded like that and cant find it or is it another external program that is required?

Why does this board have a search function, what do you think? :)
If I put 'bsp map convert' into it, it fires up with plenty results.
Take a look here or here. Long story short: q3map2 can decompile bsps. Just have a look into the manual.
