I'll remove it if it's already been posted but here is a demo of the unit by an Apple rep in a CBS interview.
[ removed, hat-tip Juggs ]
I like what I see so far, but I might wait for the second or third major revision before I even consider purchasing one, if then.

I'm not even against the iPhone anymore, but sorry, those are just dumb. They're coming up with all sorts of stupid reasons to make it look better.+JuggerNaut+ wrote:don't forget ten myths. this was a good read:

My favorite one is this:
Hahaha, yes, let's just make up some COMPLETE BULLSHIT to make Apple users feel better about getting screwed. When a phone is unlocked it loses its privileges on a provider's data network. An unlocked phone can make GSM calls and send basic SMS. No MMS, no Internet, no iTS.
...
if Apple were to sell the iPhone unlocked (or users were able to unlock it without authorization), the unit would only be able to make basic calls. It couldn't do remote web, push IMAP, visual voicemail, and various other services that are key features of the device.
what's next?
Imagine it would turn out that the iPhones microphone is broken in a large number of units, then these idiots would come up with:
"See, it's not a bug, it's a feature: The iPhone automatically detects when someone only says stupid things and turns the mic off to prevent embarrassment. It's better!"
