Two things that jobs mentioned yesterday (from some interview later in the day):

1. Price. Jobs is aware the price is still too high for the masses. He expects the price to go down dramatically in the next two years.

2. 3G. Jobs is aware of how superior 3G is, and it will most likely be in the next iteration of the phone. For some reason they had to leave it out for this version.

Just watched the keynote. Jobs really likes to emphasize some of the most trivial items on the phone.. 'look how easy it is to edit my contacts!'
Like it's ever been hard. They just made it look sexy now.

unless you're in the market for one.

:olo: @ Using buttons.
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

Yup. I usually just read the summaries, but this is the first time I sat through his whole spiel. Interesting guy.

No exchange support sucks, I don't care about a crappy Yahoo account, I want to be able to sync with my work mail and calendar.
Yep. I believe no removable battery and no Exchange support will kill it for me. Oh well, at least it looks pretty.

I'm not sure how they think they can compete with the smart phone market without Exchange support. Their biggest use is a replacement for Blackberrys. So they lost the corporate market already.

They can't but it doesn't matter since Jobs announced Exchange support during the keynote ;).

My buddy had his iPod stolen out of his truck a few weeks after he got it, right out in front of the house. I assume somebody had seen him leave it in there a lot, because nothing else was taken and it was out of sight.
There was a flurry of iPod thefts after they came out, because they were in such high demand. I'm sure the phones will be just as popular, and opportunistic crooks will take full advantage of it.
but my main point is that you have to be a moron to get one of these stolen from you unless you're mugged. plain and simple.
I know. But you don't have to be a moron to lock one in your truck in your driveway. :)
actually...

Damnit, I just upgraded to a KRZR last week since its the best thing Rogers AT&T has to offer right now. I'll have to wait until the end of the year to get one of these :(

probably pretty damn dirty. this is the drawback though. if you work around dirty environments, this will not be for you.

I have a new opinion!

I just imagined myself sitting in class next to somebody who uses this. Even though my phone can do pretty much everything that the iPhone can do, it'll look less cool.

So the moment anyone can tell me a cool way to carry it AND if the touchscreen is good, the iPhone becomes cool.
Until then it's still too big and unwieldy.

I'm a little confused by people saying it is too big. It is barely taller than my current phone, about a centimeter wider, and half the thickness. I have a fairly small phone. Make a cutout and hold it in your hand. It really isn't that big.
