Looking for a new LCD TV

better? no, but they easily measure up, even to plasma. dlp rptv is bigger of course, and some people just NEED that extra 1.5 feet of space behind their sets, but they're the best bang for a buck, imo.

I'm buying a thick entertainment center soon too, so I don't really care about the depth too much. As long as the picture quality is beautiful from a large viewing angle, and it will stay that way for a long time, then I will be happy.

The DLPs are quite a bit cheaper than LCDs, so it makes me nervous. And I haven't seen any of them in the brick-and-mortar stores, so I don't have much of a comparison -- although I may have seen one and just not known what I was looking at.

There's really not that much difference between LCD and Plasma. Depends on the quality of both for the price you're prepared to pay. Personal preference really.

dlp's are prone to dead pixels because of the amount of moving parts. qul wise, they can be about the same

What's the deal with Sony's new SXRD (Silicon X-tal (Crystal) Reflective Display) technology? Sounds like another name for (more advanced?) LCD (or maybe LCoS?)

they are 3 chip desighn with the highest pixel density and a 94% aperture ratio.

theyre 1080 p truly with 2 mil pixel count

so theyre prolly real good :shrug:
