Splishsplash (or anybody)

I rediscovered the addictive power of Master of Orion II. Have there been any more recent 'space empire turn-based strategy' games made since MOO 2 that better it? I heard MOO 3 sucked hard. I've seen "Space Empires IV Gold" reviewed positively, but that's about it.

I loved Moo2, but after playing it for 1 Million times, it kinda lost it's appeal.

Yes, Moo3 is one of the worst games ever made.

I've tried Space Empires IV, didn't like it too much. The graphics put me off. I don't expect amzing visuals, but Moo2's graphics were done with love. SEIV's graphics look like they were done by a 4th-grader.

I gave Master of Magic another spin a couple weeks ago, it was fun, you ever played it?
If you liked it, I hear Age of Wonders is pretty similar and pretty good. I never tried it, though.

Stardock (Galatic Civilizations) has confirmed that they are working on Master of Magic 2.

Has anyone ever played GalCiv? I never tried it, maybe I should?
