Sexual perversion and pedophilia growing, or just coverage?
Sexual perversion and pedophilia growing, or just coverage?
In the last five years, we've seen two dozen teachers (mostly female, oddly enough) brought to the law for fucking underaged students. We've also been witnesses to the horrible events of kids being kidnapped by sick fucks, raped, tortured, and killed. I don't remember this sort of shit in the 80s or 90s. It's always happened, but never in such a mass glorified way that is always the big event for the media to cover.
Perhaps it's an example of the media needing to have some sort of augmentation of reality to compete with how the rest of television and society is?
In the 80s, there was no hooking up. People dated and loved each other first. Now, the first generation of kids raised by the television is grown up; sex is the introduction, and maybe if you get along enough, you'll continue the [destructive] relationship for the sex. The traditional values are dead, smote in one generation because of the post Yuppie neglect devil may care parenting of the 80s and 90s. (I've seen 90s parents. They're even worse. I imagine everyone will be a rapist in 20 years.) Television mirrors reality, and with shows adapting to the changes in American society by adding more sex, more violence, nude scenes, and sensitive topics like rape and detailed sexual explicity, the media, which only exists as a means to change public opinion, must adapt as well and up the ante. What is next? Necrophelia?
"...A leader frequently cannot wait for the people to arrive at a general understanding. Democratic leaders must play their part in engineering consent to socially constructive goals and values. If the freedom to persuade happens to be concentrated in a few hands, we must recognize that is the nature of a free society."¹
In closing, I ask if "Politics is the entertainment arm of industry,"² then what on earth is the media?
¹Edward Bernays
²Frank Zappa

Uhh, where the hell were you? I remember plenty of "Oh hi, wanna fuck?" in tne 80's and 90's.rep wrote: In the 80s, there was no hooking up. People dated and loved each other first.
Sexual immaturity started it's ever rising crescendo in 1998. The youth of America are just as effected by the entertainment they are subjected to as the values given to them by their parents and peers.
Rap started it's big rise in 1998 in the white majority. Rap's nature is to be explicit, and get high sales figures through shock tactics... Flagrant violence, sexual innuendo.
No one did this sort of, "Hi, nice to meet you. Want head?" shit in 1993. Back then, even pornography had foreplay.

That's what I'm wondering. Are the media and entertainment factions bringing more attention to this stuff, and therefor degenerating society even more than they already were?scourge34 wrote:OH and I don't really think that most of that stuff is happening more now, just more coverage and talking about it.
Perhaps this is why central states actually do have better values. By better, I mean classic and time tested values that are generally not harmful in practice. Without being exposed to the media explosion of the Internet and Digital Cable, they're still on the outside as far as these factors are concerned. Some of the teachers brought to justice for sexually abusing children were working in these areas, but guess what? They were from big cities! Chivalry is still alive in Tornado Alley. In Los Angeles, however, it is not.
We're at a hilt of sorts. Can society ever change for the better now?

I started reading rep's first post in this thread, but after I got to the part where he pretended to be over the age of 12 I caled BS and stopped. Then I read a few of his other posts in here, and noticed how he blames promiscuity on rap music and african americans. then I remembered he also posted eariler about hating mexican americans, and before that, hating asians. I've thus come to the conclusion that rep is a childhood white supremecist.

Wow Smith, you have some issues with racism. I don't remember saying anything about blacks.
If you want me to single out a race, it'd probably be the Jews who ran the big record conglomerates in the late 1980s and mid 1990s who saw urban movements like hip hop and gangster rap as a cash cow without considering the consequences.
Edit: With every passing day it becomes more evident that I own the users of this forum. Every thread I make turns into some sort of attack on me... Jesus I'm good, and I'm not even trying. I am the axis upon which your world spins. Now someone will type something about me not owning them, but by them typing that, it solidifies my statement.
