[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.
It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.
I am now sick.

I wish there were better launch games. 90% of the ones I've seen are gimmicy motion games. I think I'm going to get Mario Galaxy and Zelda to start off. Maybe try to get FF and DQ for Christmas.Gorf wrote:i just saw a report on cnn called 'ps3 vs wii' they had some kids playing both systems for a few hours and they pretty much all agreed the wii was the best of the 2.
Most launch lineups haven't got the best games. This is especially true for Nintendo's latest offerings. The DS had many gimmicky games at launch as well.bitWISE wrote:I wish there were better launch games. 90% of the ones I've seen are gimmicy motion games. I have to say though that Zelda should be magnificent and games like Call of Duty, Far Cry, NFS and Madden are more or less proven classics. Excite Truck should be interesting as well (albeit this one might suffer too much from the novelty syndrome with not enough depth) and there's Mario Galaxy and Wario Ware to look forward to as well.

Gaming for profit as PS3 hits street
How a down-and-out middleman turned waiting in line into a lucrative payday
Nov. 17, 2006. 10:30 AM
TIM LAI
STAFF REPORTER
Doug isn't a hard-core gamer. He doesn't even have a roof over his head for the newest video game console, but he's ecstatic with the release of the PlayStation 3.
Sitting at the head of the 100-person line outside the Best Buy outlet at Dundas St. W. and Bay St., the 28-year-old commanded a prime lucrative spot for the past few days.
After numerous delays, the PS3 is in short supply, with great demand. At this location, chatter among the cold and wet is that there are fewer than 100 machines.
By the time the store opens at 8 a.m. today, Doug will have waited for the better part of two days to be one of the first to purchase the $650 console. But he won't be buying it: He's only saving the spot for someone else to shell out the cash.
A mini-economy has developed outside this downtown location and other stores in anticipation of the hottest item for Christmas season, despite its price and talk of glitches. As a homeless man, Doug is just trying to make money to feed himself.
"I don't care, I get paid and it pays my food bills," he said.
When first approached at a Tim Hortons about waiting in line, he received $50 for his time. But when he was told other people would be needed, Doug became an entrepreneur himself.
On the streets, you have to look out for one another, Doug said, so he recruited 21 others from shelters to huddle under blankets and tarps overnight outside the store. They stand out in this line — middle-aged men with scruffy beards, multiple winter coats, wearing two toques and ripped-up shoes.
The going rate for a spot saver ranged between $200 to $500. By arranging these deals, Doug said he's taking half the cut of his friends and claims to be making more than $4,000. He's hoping to save the money so he can go back to university — he left York two years ago when he lost his scholarship and has been living on the streets since.
This rent-a-waiter isn't something that surprises Dawn Dowling, executive director of the Toronto Friendship Centre, since scalpers often pay these men to wait in line to buy concert tickets.
"I'm not endorsing it, but it's a micro-enterprise that I'm aware of," she said. "It's a way to generate money so that they're not involved in criminal activity."
So who would pay up to $500 on top of the $650 price tag to get a shot at the PS3?
Considering the cheapest posting on Toronto's craigslist site yesterday was $1,500 for delivery in the GTA, there's a lot of money being shelled out through this grey market. Other resellers said they've seen offers of $2,500 (U.S.) online, since the supply will be very limited until after Christmas.
Matt Clark, 20, was shivering outside the Best Buy in Mississauga, but figures it'll be worth it once he uses the profit to pay for tuition at Ryerson University next year.
He's not planning to sell it right away, saying that demand could go up closer to Christmas, resulting in a value perhaps as high as $3,000. He said the 34-hours will make him more money than his $13-an-hour job at Wal-Mart. He's paying a friend to wait with him so he can buy two machines.
The hype behind PS3 didn't just attract the profiteering sharks. Hard-core gamers said there's almost no amount someone could pay them for their PS3. Stephen Lawrence, who was first in line at the Mississauga Best Buy after arriving at 10 a.m. Wednesday, said it's wrong to resell the console. Instead, the 31-year-old will be sitting on his couch all weekend with his new toy.
The launch brought out a variety of people. One 46-year-old mother gave up her Guns N' Roses tickets at the last minute to sit in line to buy her 14-year-old son the PS3 for Christmas. Another mother phoned her son's school to say he wouldn't be going to class yesterday. He missed a religion test.
And then there's the guys at smashourstuff.com, an Internet website run by Toronto performers who buy heavily hyped gadgets just to destroy them in front of would-be consumers on camera. Ben Lovatt, 19, who dubs himself a street and Internet entertainer, planned to smash the PS3 in front of the lineup this morning as a satirical riff on consumerism outside the downtown Best Buy.
