yeah when I walked in to the shop and bought my copy of gears which I did not pre-order this shithead kid with freckles (who was probably the assistant manager or whatever the fuck) was absolutely incredulous that I expected to just waltz in and buy something without reserving it a year in advance

it's retail you cunt, you have two hundred copies of the game behind the counter, give me a fuckin break, no I will not be preordering rainbow six today, I will just walk in and buy that one when it comes out too

Some of those pricks are aggressive about it too...they'll follow me around the store asking "ANY GAMES COMING YOU YOU WANT?? BETTER PRE-ORDER VIVA PINATA IF YOU WANT A COPY MAN, ITS SUPPOSED TO BE AWESOME. OH I SEE YOU LOOKING AT THE BOX FOR BARBIE GO CARTS...BETTER PRE-ORDER, I'VE ALREADY GOT 5000000 PEOPLE SIGNED UP FOR COPIES" or aggresively trying to get me to sell my own games back at pennies on the dollar so those pricks can sell them back at almost full price again.

I make it a point not to buy a game there unless I just happen to be at the mall when I decide to pick the game up....

Just got done playing through act one, split screen coop. Had a blast playing 1vs1 local also. Great game so far.

Tried to play hardcore stright outta the box. Was getting my ass handed to me bigtime. Although now that ive played through the first act and got the hang of how everything works...casual is kinda tame. I might have to go back.

I think casual is default. The only option is casual or hardcore....then once you win on one of those it unlocks insane. Hardcore was rough, I ran out of ammo in the first 3 minutes.

Great game so far!

They definitley need to add more MP gametypes. Assassin is the only one I have played since the others are just DM. Hopefully any sort of update like that will be free.

My only complaint on the SP side so far is the transition from the cut scenes. They really should have made them seamless.

GRAW missed out by not implementing the cover system into their MP.

My only complaint is the way they set up the multiplayer pregame shit. It's really hard to get into a game with your friends if you're not the host. I just wish they would have made it more like Halo 2, in the aspect of pregame lobbies. With Halo 2, you can create a party and invite your friends, which insures that you will be playing the same game.

Other than that, it's spectacular.

Funnily enough I just finished reading a review that said the same exact thing.

Can they modify the game that much with an XBL update?

I think it mostly depends on how the developer created the game. If they allowed for those sort of updates then it is possible because GRAW's chapter 2 updated added new gametypes, weapons, maps, etc.

Will there be any Downloadable Content?

Mark Rein and Cliffy B have both confirmed there will be strong Downloadable content post release; chiefly patches and extension to the mutiplayer campaign. Epic have sighted their previous support of UT products to support this; however there has been no clarification on the cost (if any) of these expansions across Xbox Marketplace. Pre-release content has not been officially discussed at this point although a member of the dev team told me that maps are being worked on right now and most of them are very near completion. Don't be surprised if you see new maps popping up on the Marketplace before the end of the year. Also some new game modes are rumoured to be in development.

I dont work for game anymore mate, sorry.

But from what they used to be like, I wouldn't think you could get a CE on release day or for a good few days (monday maybe).

As for the normal edition you may be able to get that.

But GAME as a whole have gone REALLY down hill, the whole company just have no clue how to run a business.

I have friends at Game Station, and they get games as soon as they come in, so they buy them once they get delivered. In other words, this Tuesday maybe, I could have the game :D
