predictions: upcoming U.S. congressional elections
okay in this thread post who you think will 'win'
a) in the senate
b) in the house of representatives
My predictions:
a) republicans by 5 seats
b) republicans by 3 seats and Lieberpimp wins too.
Despite exit polling data which will indicate a democratic victory, the republican party's famous get out the vote apparatus will snatch victory from defeat. (in other words i think it's gonna be rigged)

I'm going to hold off for a week or two until I see what becomes of this:

and if Diebold gets any more press leading up to the elections.

I think the republicans are in trouble here in Ohio. I don't know if they'll be able to steal this one like they did the past two times. That fucking snake Blackwell that helped hand Bush his 2nd "victory" is running for governor. Thankfully, he is WELL behind in the polls, about 21 points. Additionally, one of our Congressmen was just exposed as being heavily involved with Abrams, or whatver his name is. I'm not sure what to think about our other races. Brown has done well in the past and is up for re-election. I've only disagreed with his voting record a couple of times, so he'll get my vote again. He's ahead about 7 points in the polls. And since Blackwell is running, our secretary of state is also up for grabs. Jennifer Brunner looks to be beating Greg Hartmann, which is good. I think the GOP is in big trouble here in Ohio, and that's a good thing.
I would assume so.R00k wrote:I assume Blackwell will still be serving as Sec. of State through the elections, until the replacement is inaugurated, or until he takes over his new role, whichever comes first?
Additionally, our attorney general seat is also up for grabs. I think the GOP candidate has a slight lead here, however.
These are interesting:

You come across as an attention-seeking moron with A.D.D.
Since this is a certifiable mental deficiency - necessitating medication and high voltage electrodes to your testicles - you'd be dropped long before making it to Voir dire. Besides...you opening up your mouth in court would simply expose how fucking retarded you are...and it'd be on the record.

vote rigging always happens on both sides. Of course, it's only the party that wins that gets the heat for it. Nothing new I suppose, but it's always strange to see people bash it when, no matter what party they support, it is their party's best strategy.Ryoki wrote:I'm gonna go with this.GONNAFISTYA wrote:A) Everyone votes Democrat
B) The Republicans win
C) There are spotty protests across the country about vote rigging and some lawsuits filed
D) Eventually everyone forgets and watches another episode of 24.

Re: predictions: upcoming U.S. congressional elections
for a moron u got pretty close on this one...cept i think it will play out where the repubs lose congress but keep the senate...if they don't give one part of the house to the dems, ppl will get suspicious...there could be kaos in the streets...revolution.....this will keep order in the streets and keep bush from getting thrown in jail...the congress will impeach but the senate will not...nothing happens...unless they decided to do another 911 event...in that case it could go any way...HM-PuFFNSTuFF wrote:okay in this thread post who you think will 'win'

a defining attribute of a government is that it has a monopoly on the legitimate exercise of violence...

that was before evoting...now that doesn't really apply...

I really hope the thing isn't rigged.
The diebold thing stinks to hell.
Again, the fact that there is even a chance the republicans might win both is crazy. LOOK AROUND YOU FFS PEOPLE. We're seeing the results of unilateral republican power right now. Oh well.
It's like those dumbshits who live in the small towns with high unemployment and everything else in the shitter who voted for Bush because they feel he is a good christian man. Its those types of people who will come out of the woodwork and keep them in.
Also, I can honestly see some of these rightwing religious fuckers justifying a rigged election in their own mind because they are crazy enough to think that God himself wants to keep the republicans in power and their responsibility is to a higher power. Not saying it will be rigged, but that's the kind of mindset I can see leading towards an attempt to do it.

That is interesting, but I hate to really put any weight on gambling/trading metrics. They are subject to a lot of things - especially when it comes to politics - like inside information and people just betting odds.Fender wrote:Time for a bump. Interesting to see that GOP retaining control has been on a pretty steady slide.
Although TBH, I don't really trust polls anymore either, so I guess I'm just a cynic all the way around.
