LOL. I said that the USA is not significantly WORSE as a society than the other western countries. I also say it just depends on which statistics you want to cite on any particular day. If you pick Murder, then one country comes out all messed up but if you pick Suicide, another country will appear pretty crappy.

Read your post yourself. I was referring to this:
Although I think a much better indicator of fundamental "wrongness" with a society is the suicide rate.

Which country do you live in Werldhed? I'm curious because even
by the suicide indicator, the USA just comes out mediocre. The
Netherlands (where I live) and the UK come out better :)

-> Using Suicide as an indicator does not make the USA the best place to live - just an OK place.

I'm in the US. Don't get me wrong, I know there are a lot of problems with this country, and also agree with what you're saying -- you can paint any country as a cesspool if you look at the right characteristics. I just found it odd that you think suicide is more indicative of a problematic society than murder rates.

Don't worry, I'm not trying to say the US is the greatest nation in the world -- far from it. But it does have its own redeeming qualities.

Shit like this happens because the 5th grade art field trips get canceled over nude sculptures.
