sure

First and foremost, I congratulate the likes of Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Rowan Scarborough and the rest of the ClearChannelCrazies for somehow being able to type at rates far superior to any skilled typist. This bunch of misguided pundits churn out pages like those proverbial monkeys at typewriters so often that I wonder how Joe Nascar and Jill Wal-Mart keep up with the erudite commentary that is surely truthful about what American politics are about... I know that most of the real zingers from the books are repeatedly referenced on ClearChannel and Fox, comments surreptitiously placed between faux news reports and one-sided social commentary and punditry, so the summary of each book is bestrewn on the Government controlled radio waves that we know as Fair and Balanced television - A medium so awash with partisan opinion that Americans watching these channels assume it's the average mindset of America, without considering the fact that it's most likely a true mixed melting pot, politically. Now More Than Ever have people become so polarized towards the right and unwilling to accept that religious conservatism is not in fact the way of the future, but of the past. You can call it the Taming of the Shrewd, if you'd like. Once provocative and interesting, American society is now a mindfuck. Is it because of the constant barrage of advertisement from the right on the dominated airwaves of television and radio? Is it because the books feature such rudimentarily patriotic titles such as, "Let Freedom Ring" by Sean Hannity? Something that at face value looks to represent the freedoms of American citizens, including the choice of political party, but then goes to devalue and defame the political left, drawing from former fears of Communism and using this propaganda as a scare tactic to condition the uninformed into believing the claptrap lies that being a Democrat or politically liberal is wrong and unpatriotic. Ann Coulter herself said, "Want to make liberals angry? Defend the United States." Thus implying that liberals are anti-US, which is far from the truth. I fail to understand how participating in the political affairs of the United States is detrimental to the security of the Union... One might suppose that presenting different views is the purpose of democracy, and without this system we would be no greater than the monarchy from which we insurrected ourselves. Of course, the ever present pundits chime in to scream in your ears, "Our way or the highway!" And it's absolutely true. Agree with them, or suffer the wrath of public defamation, and trust me, they'll find something ever so miniscule to destroy you with. "He looked at porno on the internet! Surely he isn't worthy of being our President since he covets women! Shame on you, and may Jesus burn your face with the anger of God!"Are people actually buying these books? They offer nothing new. Even the farthest to the right religious neo-conservative shouldn't have an interest in reading what these people have to say because it would be like preaching to the choir, so who is responsible for the supposed sale of these books? Often I've wondered if the large audiences of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are actually left wing liberals who enjoy a good laugh or two. While I personally don't believe in the validity of the two party system in these times (That's another topic) I do believe in liberal ideology, but I don't tune in to listen to Al Franken on the drive home... Well, I don't suppose I could anyway, since AirAmerica is only covered by a small percent of the country, when compared to the five totally conservative talk radio stations I can get on the AM dial at any time. I'm sure everyone else in a large city is presented with the same problem. Do the readers get caught up in the mix, and take all this information blasting at them from all sides as factual? Let's analyze the synopsis of, "Men In Black: How the Supreme Court is Destroying America", by Mark R. Levin and Rush Limbaugh. In Men in Black, you’ll learn:How judicial activism upheld slavery and segregation [Defamation of current policy based on historical irrelevancy]Why Roe v. Wade not only mandated abortion-on-demand but gutted the Constitution [Mandate is a strong word. It generally means something is ordered... The US Supreme Court orders abortion-on-demand? That's not true. You don't just go into the abortion clinic and walk out in an hour with no fetus inside you. You want abortion-on-demand? Try the metal coat hangers that were used (And responsible for injury to the mother) before this so-called mandate was made.]How the Court imports laws from other countries to help win the culture war for extremists [This would be interesting if it wasn't for the fact that the neo-conservatives are so high on shitholes like Israel themselves. They're against us! They're importing law from from from... Kazapakiskrannastan to allow the blacks to rape your white babies! Pray!]Why the justices are granting illegal immigrants rights equal with citizens [This is another hard to fairly debate, easy to apply punditry to issue. This goes along the lines of drug usage, and abortion. If people really want to do it, they'll continue to do it. The best thing in a lot of situations is to make things easier by reducing loss of life and curbing stress. Voting, working, and driving rights should not in my opinion be granted to illegals, and those with seasonal work visas should be paid whatever the state minimum wage is at the time, so they cannot unfairly compete with Americans as they currently do in states such as California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.]How helping terrorists file suit against the United States is another innovation of our Supreme Court [The Supreme Court interprets the law. These terrorists as mentioned in the book are the detainees of various US military branches. Remember, in the Twenty-First century you're guilty until proven dead because the CIA interrogated you.]Surprise: the liberal Supreme Court Justice who erected the "separation of church and state" was a member of the Ku Klux Klan [OH GNOEZ!!!1 Let's bring up something really old and make sure we throw the term liberal in there to make sure our audience understands that all liberals are members of the Klan! Oh yeah, and we'll fail to mention how Republican Governor Edward L. Jackson of Indiana was a member of the Klan and best friends with the Grand Dragon at the time. OOPSIE!. Let's also fail to mention how the KKK supports the Republican party when they're not trying to play big boy and run for President on the "We hates them naggers! ticket. Remember, the simple facts are that the KKK has it's foundation firmly on the values of Southern Baptist Protestant conservatism... Gee, I wonder who they vote(d) for?]So I guess the bottom line as far as the content of these books go is that the neo-conservative Right wing will do anything to present a digressive prevarication of the opposite side, while serving as total propaganda to the power which has been in charge of America since the late 1970s. Regarding the entertainment value of the books and authors, I'll borrow something from W's vernacular; "It's slim-n-none."Separation of church and state? I can't believe this was brought up as an issue in this book. I'll leave you to ponder this, with the words of the idiot who can order nukes to fly anywhere at anytime. My fellow citizens, we now move forward, with confidence and faith. Our nation is strong and steadfast. The cause we serve is right, because it is the cause of all mankind. The momentum of freedom in our world is unmistakable -- and it is not carried forward by our power alone. We can trust in that greater power who guides the unfolding of the years. And in all that is to come, we can know that His purposes are just and true. May God continue to bless America.

there you go :icon14:

You didn't open a topic for discussion. Your post is a page-long rant to begin with.

This is what I hate about the Internet. Dipshits who can't read something that isn't under one paragraph, and then they go on to flame for days about it.

Nerds.

Your whole fucking diatribe is a big flame. It's like you're writing some venomous op/ed piece, but instead of trying to get it published, you post it on a message board and want people to discuss it.

What is there to discuss, exactly, except whether we think it's a load of crap or not?

So you're saying my little harangue has no merit? What world are you living in?

It is editorialized of course, as anything didactic is, but that doesn't mean it's not true. If you want to criticize me, then make intelligible statements, instead of stupid internet flames. If anything, it's a fact/ed piece, as all sides are being analyzed thoroughly.

I might be politically liberal, but that does not mean I believe in the douchebags calling themselves liberal democrats, when they're really in the same hierarchical group of designing men who wish to destroy the world while lining their pockets. I may opine, but I am unbiased in my methods. I didn't pull a republican and just find a number of stabbing zingers to throw at the other side.

Let me explain. At any given time I have about a half a dozen things going on. Most of the time your threads have very little interesting value or there might be a point buried under 10 tons of fluff and or nonsense. With a post like that I'm tempted to bypass it rather than take the chance that there might actually be something worth reading in there somewere. If you could quit trying to sound so intelligent and coming off as a pompous ass then maybe, just maybe some members would take you a little more seriously.

Hey look everyone...LXL is again making statements about things he doesn`t know.

First he tells me that Far Cry wasn`t good without actually playing it, but now he`s saying something is boring without actually reading it.

CryTek did an excellent job at bringing us a fun shooter. It plays more like an arcade game than a PC FPS, but that's not a bad thing.

There are some technical wrinkles that should have been ironed out, but regardless of those issues, it plays like a champ.

LXS is a fool.
