Which console and why?

Which console should I get and why? -I have primarily used the PC for my gaming in recent years... Haven't bothered too much with the console. Thinking about picking one up. Which one is the best out there, allround?

I wouldent have said this 2-3 months back.. but now im saying GAMECUBE and Resident Evil 4...the cube is the cheapest of them and you´ll get one of the best looking horror games ever made.

X-Box owns for shaer power, has a few great games like riddick and halo 2, however most of the games are out on pc and better (Riddick)

PS2, yeah, whatever, IT FUCKING SUCKS.

Game cube, by far the best choice. Has loads of EXCLUSIVE titles, not as many shit ones, and it has games like Resi 4, Metroid and Zelda.

People always moan about PS 2 having 10 titles to cubes 1. What they forget to mention is that 9 of those titles are PURE SHIT on the PS2, and only 1 is gold.

Seriously. Pick up a cube, grab a wavebird pad, get resi 4, metroid prime 1/2, zelda wind waker, rebel strike, and look at some of the best visuals you can get on a home console while you wait for the new Zelda

Or, you cna just buy a PS2 and wiat for Resi 4 on that. Sure, it will be ugly as sin and your PS2 will probably be knackered in 6 months due to overheating, but hey!

BTW, a cube at game is £64.99 with what 3 games

GET IT.

so... gamecube and ps2 have the same amount of top games while ps2 still has got additional myraids of mediocre ones you can waste some time with?

I go into my shop. I look at the PS2 bay. I spot hundred of titles, all of which are shit, bottom of the barrel "made on my dads pc using mspaint" stuff.

I walk over to the cube, i see a few shelves worth not much, but pretty much every one has that nintendo shine.

Quality > quantity.

They are all pretty good, I have a ps2 myself and I feel like I want an xbox & gamecube.

ps2 has the biggest collection thou.

If there is one game in history that took an old classic, messed with it, and made a new version that OWNED its Metroid. I cant say why, it just owns in first person. The game is amazing to play and a joy to look at.

are you sure you didn't just get sold a shitty one?

had a ps2 for ages and the only problems i've had with it were on gta:sa - assumed that was because my ps2's very old and dirty and the game's on a dual layer dvd.

Yeah, lets wait for the overpriced launch of the next gen consoles with the envitably rushed launch games, and only for the same cost as all three current consoles and a game for each combined!

Nope. There figures are simple guess work but tbh, not over the top.

We get about 10 PS2's brought back over X time, compared to 2 x-boxes and, if we are lucky, 1 cube.

The cube is just made of steel or something, we have dropped them and got water in them and all sorts and they still work. The x-box is bullet proof, its just a concrete house of cool. But the ps2... If you fat near it, it will moan.

There are two problems with PS2's.

1) They over heat. TO MUCH. Games crap out a lot of the time for a lot of people, it all depends on what they play. Use a slimline ps2 (With no fan, well done sony) and its worse. People say that if they play a slim line ps2 for 3 hours straight it craps out.

2) The disks. PS2 reads 2 types of disk. Cd Rom and Dvd Rom. Now, sometimes, the laser inside will stop working on just one disk. Why? How knows. It just does. It also has a cool little way of scratching your disks. The laser goes up to high inside while reading, and, stupidly, scratches your disk. Look on the back of your disks, any round scratches? Time to get a new PS2.

Now, thats just the one side of things. I wont mention the fact sony still feel a need to charge £20 for a memory card, yet they can sell you a memory card, pad and dvd remote for just £10 more. If they can afford to do that, why not drop the price of the memory card to £10?

A friend of mine said it best. Sony, and even microsoft are just after one thing. Money. They will do whatever it takes to get it off you. Nintendo are after one thing also. They want to see you smile. Thats why the revolution will have wireless internet for free, while sony/ms charges you for it.

Shush, launch titles rock :icon19: Played Rayman on the DS? WOW, WHAT A PILE OF 5 FPS SHIT. Amazing how Mario and Spider man play smooth as sily, yet Rayman runs so poor...

God damn 1st gen games... Cant wait until they unlock the power of the DS, but that will be 3rd gen no doubt...
