project management software

anyone here use project management software,
interested in open source, able to run on win2000 and xp....
file sharing capacity also important

any specific suggestions?

They're very thin on the ground, especially ones with Gantt capability.

There's a dedicated Gantt generator, I forget it's name. However the big player in the field is OpenWorkbench.

Its biggest limitation has so far been poor MS Project compatability, but they were making moves to address this last time I looked and that was 18 months ago. Aside from that issue, it's a solid piece of software. Requires java IIRC.

Thanks Foo, I was looking at their website yesterday wondering if it was worth registering to download teh software...im not a java fan, but ill reg, grab a copy and see how it goes!!

ah ganttproject - nice find riddla, I likee am trying it out across a few projects now...
