Nah, you'll at best see a very marginal (1-2%) difference if you where to go with an old set (which btw I've not done in ages, so I dunno what type of older set some people use). Besides newer drivers often fix boogs so it's all good.

However ati's control panel (catalyst control center) is quite bloated, you would be better off downloading the driver without the cp, and using ati tray tools, or using the excellent omega drivers (custom set with a bunch of tweaks, has no control center/comes with ati tray tools). But the guy updates these drivers pretty slowly, hes behind 3 or so sets now...

Up to you

Oh wait as a matter of fact omega updated the driver 2 days ago :icon30:

Bummer that he didn't decide to skip and wait for 6.8 which should be out within a week (ati usually releases them close to the end of the month) and knowing him his next set will be 6.10 ;o

Don't forget to disable vpu recover/wmv acceleration and the ati services (aka useless stuff).

ATi...

ATi Catalyst version 6.005

-FIXED problem with Far Cry where if you stood on a leaf, used your binoculars, and looked at the sun from a 29.3 degree angle while urinating on your shoe, one of the trees in the background would change green.

The Green Hue was a littlebit of a problem in any game....

I'm glad they are fixing it... DOD was really bad for it when you turned down the Reflection quality.

Yeah that's pretty much true, a bunch of their fixes are about shit obscure bugs that noone could give a rats ass about, but it's better than nothing...
