Nice Escher print, Drum. :icon17:
Oh, and let us know how you like the player... with the increased battery life and lower costs, iPods are looking more appealing. :icon14:
Hmm, the apple earphones go louder and are a bit crisper than my sony EX71's but don't have the warmth or bass. Plus the apples just fall out of my ears, so that's no good. And the sonys sound a bit nasal. I think I'm gonna have to upgrade on the sonys, which surprises me tbh. Might have to invest in something like etymotics or shures.
edit: now I'm getting used to them on this unit, and have been listening for an hour or 2, the sony EX71's are sounding fucking good.

turb, £139, john lewis. model M9800B/A, 4GB, 18 hours battery ( which probably means 10). Dixons, comet, currys all doing the same price, but john lewis had the biggest selection of colours. There's a 6GB model too, identical, holds 1500 songs, for another £30, £169.
btw: might wanna pick up a wall charger for it, about £19, has a usb socket on it and allows you to charge without the pc being on, it's retarded they removed the wall charger in the first place.
Yeah, I nearly bought a charger today which was gonna be around that price, but I might not need one seeing as how I'll probably always be home to charge it before I've even used most of the charge.
That one you linked to does have a charger which would account for the extra cost I guess. Also, it's possible they don't realise it's been reduced to £139. But apparently the 4gb with 8 hour battery used to be £179 before it was recently reduced, and without a charger. So if they're still going on old prices, they probably see it as a good deal by comparison. Dunno.

I have the EX71SL earphones too, white colour, import from Japan. They come out too easily, even with the right sized rubber plugs. The apple earphones aren't too bad either, if you put the black uhmm nylons around it, it gives some more bass and they fit better.

we sell the old one with the charger for 125.95... remember that the new one has over double the battery life....

Hehe, my hands are fairly small and slim actually, I guess the photo makes em look bigger.

They've reviewed the Sony EX81SL, Etymotics, Shures etc.
Cheers sat, I'll check out the reviews. I'm going to be looking at some shure e2 and e3s which are £77 and £175. Not rhe e5's though, they're £499! :icon28:
Holy shit though, did you know that your ipod is probably capped? Apple have capped the volume level for the european market. Check my thread here:

Features:
Custom fit to your ears. Each pair is hand crafted off ear impressions you have made at your neighborhood audiologist or hearing aid center.
Why custom fit? Because a custom fit earphone delivers the ultimate in comfort. A sealed “custom” earpiece also means the low frequencies can “resonate” in the ear offering optimum bass response naturally, not accomplished by volume.
btw drum, if you want to remove songs from the iPod, just remove the songs from the iPod playlists. If you want to format the HD, there's an option hidden in your iPod settings.
I'm being thick here, but I found 'playlist' on the ipod and can't see anything about removing songs.
I see '90's Music', 'my top rated', 'recently added', 'recently played', and ' top 25 most played'.
They just take me to the songs, and if I click, it just plays that song.

You can make your own playlists and sync them on the iPod. Add songs from your Music Library and remove them from the playlists again (press Del).
