Definitely!
Cube was awesome. I didn't like the second part of it, because it seemed to be somehow over the top and contrieved. Yeah, cube is also contrieved, but in a different, more interesting way.
In the third movie, they went back more to their original concept.
Actually I think don't having virtually unlimited amount of money available, makes for much more creativity then all this "blockbusters" who are living on a thin story and endless series of expensive special effects.

This sequence reminded me a bit at The Ring, which was also done in that order.
