lol yeah I was only kidding, although they did the same thing with Resident Evil 4 and Killer 7 (except for the Dante part though). As for those games being released on PS2 as well, it doesn't bother me at all. I can still play those games on the GameCube I have so why should I complain? I'm pretty sure the PS2 release fo Viewtiful Joe has been a catalyst for the development of Viewtiful Joe 2, so that's all good. And Viewtiful Joe deserves to be played by a much larger crowd than just GameCube owners.
Multiplatform games are a good thing IMO, as long as the developer took the time to fine tune every release for their specific platform (otherwise you get low quality PS2 graphics on your XBox or framerate issues on your PS2)

Dante also apeard in the PS2 RPG Nocturne, brilliant game i might add, the new one, Digital Devil Saga, will be released this summer.
Perhaps that was what you where thinking.
