What are you reading now?
no, it's literally a poorly written book. like grammar errors etc. now you can sit there and argue that it's a good book and that Jewel wrote good poetry and that Alanis really did know what irony meant for as long as you want, but you'll be wrong. just because you're "entitled to your own opinion" doesn't mean you're even remotely right.
Guess people arnt allowed to like things unless a group vote says we can..menkent wrote:no, it's literally a poorly written book. like grammar errors etc. now you can sit there and argue that it's a good book and that Jewel wrote good poetry and that Alanis really did know what irony meant for as long as you want, but you'll be wrong. just because you're "entitled to your own opinion" doesn't mean you're even remotely right.
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.
It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.
I am now sick.

Last book was Anne Frank's diary, I'm going to stretch myself with Deception Point next (:))
I was thinking of buying that, are the books in general any good? From the synopsis and the way places are trying to sell it I get the impression Jack Reacher's like Jack Bauer or something.tnf wrote:Going through the new Jack Reacher book by Lee Child (the hard way)...decent story, a lot slower moving than his other stuff, I'm 50+ chapters in and reacher really hasn't kicked anyone's ass yet...
Also still plugging through American Theocracy.

Yea, reacher is a badass in the books...but he's not a 'secret agent' type - he's a former MP, and a real big guy. The writing describing the beatings he dishes out is good. I have found the books overall very enjoyable...the first one I read was Persuader, it was pretty good. I'm trying to think about which one would be the best one to read first - don't start with the Hard Way - it's good, but I think you'd enjoy it a lot more if you had read previous books.mik0rs wrote:Last book was Anne Frank's diary, I'm going to stretch myself with Deception Point next (:))

bah philistine. I laughed nearly constantly the whole way through, apart from towards the end where it did get a bit heavy going.Kaz wrote:Also - I'm about 200 pages into Catch-22 ATM, and, other than the random, mildly humorous dialogue, it's boring as shit. I have to start reading Tortilla Flat soon.
I'm reading Eats shoots & leaves while i eat breakfast,
The Magus before I go to bed by John Fowles (i think) which is turning out to be dreadfully boring and am going to have to stop quite soon
and Howl's Moving Castle in between which is really rather delightful
