Reselling

Post by inphlict »

Does anyone have any experience in reselling hosting or any other services/products on the internet? How much time does it take and can you make a profit?

I'm thinking of maybe buying 10gb & 100gb bandwith splitting it up and just running a small hosting company.

Maybe like:

100mb
1 GB Bandwith
$1 per a month

200mb
2 GB Bandwith
$2 per a month

500mb
5 GB Bandwith
$5 per a month

Any ideas?

I inquired about this before and I realised that the market is so flooded that you will really have to work hard to ensure success. The problem is that you will need a great control panel, good support, and flawless reliability.

Besides, those hosting plans an incredibly limited. Lets say a person's page gets hit for an average of 5k per second. That would take up atleast 12gb a month. For $10 a month I get 2gb of storage and 50gb of bandwidth. Plus professional support and good reliability. The only downside is that their email server and their control panel sucks.

Yeah I know what you mean, I'm having second thoughts now. I'd only make like $30 profit a month, I could just find a job and make that money 2 times a day. You have 1&1? 1&1 doesn't use cpanel and they don't offer any support for forums and most php scripts, pretty gay.

Made a request on this forum just to see how much it is, http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/show ... hp?t=66453

It's like $20 a month, and I would never find enough people to make a big profit. What other ways are there to make good money?

I have the 1and1 linux business package. I can run my own php but their control panel is terrible. It looks like it is just a request system and that you have to wait for a real person to make your changes. Some things take up to 30 minutes to apply.

Yeah I still have 1&1 package I got for free, I'm using it now to host a forum. It's pretty stable thou, I asked them the other day if they supported IPB and they sent me like 3 emails. First one to tell me that I submited a questions, then the acctual person emailed me then they sent me a survey to rate the performance. :dork:
