If you want to see the Quake fanboys on this forum come crawling from the woodwork make an Unreal post. Jesus fucking christ get over yourselves and you're outdated game.
Technologically, Unreal 3 is far more advanced. I know this, I've worked on both engines. However, if the videos shown on that page wered done in the same version of the engine I've been using than that wasn't ran at real-time, and was recorded with a forced framerate.
Why is it that after 1.5 years of Doom 3 tech being release we're finally seeing shots of a good game being made with the engine from a company who's been getting taken from behind by id for YEARS? Because the game was crap. Quake 4 was crap - what an abomination of great gameplay and level design (Quake 3). Now flip over to Unreal 3... there's already 50+ licensees and released screenshots of games being made with the engine are in the double digits - and the game isn't even out yet.
Yes, I know more licensees doesn't make the original game better. Yes, Quake 3 was a good game, better than UT2K3 for gameplay - but move the fuck on. It's a dying franchise and a dying engine. id's already cut its losses, the fanboys should too.

No it just has different gameplay. Afterall UT was out a few months before Quake 3 and was originally planned as an unreal 1 addon.Oeloe wrote:It's the other way around. Q3 fanboys don't and can't like UT because UT's gameplay is watered down compared to Q3.Monster w/ 21 Faces wrote:On this forum it does mean that yes.

All that rambling still won't make UT2004 a good game, or the unreal franchise in general for that matter.Methyd™ wrote:If you want to see the Quake fanboys on this forum come crawling from the woodwork make an Unreal post. Jesus fucking christ get over yourselves and you're outdated game.

bhahaha suck at playing a game and you might sound like this, folks!DooMer wrote:I guess if you need to shoot 5 rockets at once in order to land a frag, UT might be appealing. HEY, you should spawn with some kind of nuclear device in this version. That would be totally sweet. Then you just have to click mouse1 instead of bothering with that shit they call technique, or skill.
