can I buy a replacement screen for my laptop?

Post by Tsakali_ »

my screen cracked cause it was elbowed ,I know this question is bordering on ignorance but before I chuck this pavilion zv5000 in the trash I'd like to know if it's possible to replace pretty much the most expensive part.

How old is the lap top?

Price a comparible lap top, then call the manufacturer and ask what it would cost to replace the bad screen.

Not a bad idea, if the new LCD doesn't cost more than half of what your laptop is worth.

And yes, you should be able to replace the screen yourself. Just remember how the laptop came apart and put it back together in reverse. :icon26:

Not to mention it's such a pain. I managed to drop a piece of metal into the PCMCIA slot on my laptop (it fell off a card i put in) and it ended up at the very back under the motherboard, basically behind every other part of the laptop. Good job I got it out, though.

Replacing the screen is cake, you can find it on eBay or a few good dealers
