A person shovelling shitholes for the army would still have more inherent worth than a phone jockey who books tickets and plays e-thug on the side.
I send people on vacation dude, people LOVE me.

Tool being the main construct around which that sentence hangs.

No think of all the lives I've ended! Hell I bet I've killed more people than he has and he's in the military!

He's Canadian, brains.

Good luck, wonky eye. Milk it for all you can, they plan on doing the same to you.

Here's a question - say I wanted to get into the military in one of those research type positions that you see on TV...where they are playing with hi-tech weaponry and toys and targeting systems...all that shit that DARPA funds and whatnot. Does EVERYONE go through basic training first regardless of when they are going into the service and what role they are going into it for?

I'm not considering going - and as for the obvious nature of the name
basic training and what it implies - I'm talking about a the guy who is an engineer and has been for awhile that sees one of those air force ads calling for engineers and scientists to do research for them, etc.

I didn't realize that a guy who was already a professional and going to be doing nothing but research and development would be doing the same basic training that the 18 year old kid who signs up right out of school gets.

yep, everyone is made equal as the lowest common denominator. that's what sucks.

you'd be better of being a government employee making a ton more money than you would in the service

you know your initial post sounded like one of the following:

1) some cheap attempt at online recruiting
2) satirical bordering on Q3Wfix material
3) yet another lost and brainwashed soul

k I'll leave now

joining an army that is likely to be involved in aggressive foreign wars rather than say defending a homeland, is just plain wrong.

Hey you're banned. Thanks for posting the thread, now fuck off and don't come back you cross eyed fucking loser. I hope you get sent to Iraq, have both of your legs blown off, and need someone to wipe the drool off your face for the rest of your sad pathetic life.
